(Serbian pro-family march on August 28 that drew 50,000 people)
After protests organized by Church and pro-family leaders, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has just announced that he is canceling the Europride festival which had been scheduled to take place in the Serbian capital of Belgrade on September 12-18. As Politico reported:
“Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced on Saturday that the Europride festival won’t be held in Belgrade as planned next month due to the ‘significant crisis in Kosovo.’… Tensions flared between Kosovo and Serbia a few weeks ago along the [administrative line] between the two over license plates and entry documents, with barricades being erected and shots fired at the Kosovo police.”
While there truly are tensions between Serbia and Kosovo, almost everyone believes that Vučić canceled the annual radical LGBT event because of staunch opposition from the Church and pro-family leaders. “It’s a victory of the people who came out into streets twice in two weeks,” said Serbian pro-family leader Marija Stajić. “The pro-family community of Serbia showed its strength to President Vučić and he did the right thing.”
Of course, the left-wing press (virtually all major Western newspapers) attacked everyone who defended traditional values and opposed Europride 2022. The New York Times declared:
“The plan to host EuroPride drew protests in Serbia, with far-right lawmakers and religious figures leading the opposition, which included a rally this month featuring thousands of demonstrators. A Serbian Orthodox bishop, Nikanor Bogunović of Banat, claimed that the event would desecrate the capital.”
(For the NY Times, anyone who opposes the radical LGBT agenda is “far right.” It simply will not allow anyone to be considered just “right” or “conservative.”)
Likewise, the Associated Press reported:
“In a protest called before the cancellation of the pride event [in addition to the earlier protest], thousands of right-wing church supporters marched through the Serbian capital Sunday evening in a procession they said was ‘to save Serbia.’ They were led by the Serbian branch of the Night Wolves, the Russian biker group that is considered close to Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
(The Left just has to tie anyone who opposes their agenda to Vladimir Putin and Russia. They also assume that such people support Hitler as well….)
Politico wrote:
“Right-wing groups and hooligans regularly target events organized by activists, as well as their offices in Belgrade. ‘For decades, the LGBT+ community has been demonized in mainstream narratives in the country, and there is little to no condemnation for the hate speech and hate crimes directed towards it,’ Mihailović [Serbian LGBT activist] said…’Large swathes of Serbian society are plagued by a traditionalism that is always seeking out an enemy, someone to blame or someone to treat as inferior,’ said Sofija Todorović, the program director at the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, an NGO.”
(There you go. It is right-wing hooligans and traditionalism that are to blame.)
Likewise, left-wing Euronews stated:
“Vučić denied that the decision was made due to mounting pressures from the more radical parts of the society and the Serbian Orthodox Church.”
(So if you support the family, you are from the “more radical parts” of society and the Church.)
So there you have it. Pro-family and pro-traditional values leaders have strongly stood up to the radical LGBT agenda and succeeded in getting the President of Serbia to cancel Europride 2022 in Belgrade. And, as expected, the left-wing media viciously smeared anyone who opposed the Europride event. Let’s hope that the Serbian people and its Orthodox Church will inspire more people and churches around the world to speak up against the imposition of an elite, minority agenda on their countries.
