Hungarian State Secretary for International Communication Zoltán Kovács has rallied young people to stand firm against Brussels’ overreach, framing it as a vital battle to preserve Europe’s Christian heritage and national sovereignty. Speaking at a youth gathering on January 30, 2026, Kovács declared: “I ask you to rebel against Brussels, because I believe that by working together, we can defend Christian Europe.”

Kovács emphasized Hungary’s unyielding commitment to peace, rejecting EU policies that prolong conflicts like the Ukraine war. “We stand for peace in Europe and the world and reject all decisions that serve to prolong the war,” he stated. “We do not accept that the price of war is paid by our children and grandchildren.”

He highlighted the nation’s defense of borders against unchecked migration, crediting Hungarians for sustaining a Christian and national government for 16 years amid globalist pressures. Drawing on historical parallels, Kovács invoked King John III Sobieski’s 1683 triumph over Ottoman forces at Vienna, positioning Hungary as Europe’s enduring guardian. “Today, it takes courage to represent Christianity and Christian values in Europe,” he asserted, urging youth to resist Brussels’ secular agendas that erode family, faith, and freedom.

This call resonates amid EU tensions, where Hungary faces fines and criticism for prioritizing traditional values over progressive mandates. Kovács praised the youth’s role in safeguarding cultural identity, warning against supranational forces that threaten self-determination.As leftist elites in Brussels push divisive ideologies, Kovács’s message champions a return to Europe’s roots, empowering the next generation to protect life, liberty, and legacy from bureaucratic tyranny.
