Hollywood is wonderful at distorting reality. If nothing else, it is great at making the exception appear to be the rule. Indeed, if you did nothing but watch television and go to the movies, you would see an America that is the exact opposite of reality.
Take, for example, the LGBT agenda; Hollywood has bought into it hook, line, and sinker. If you watch television or go to the theater, you would swear that half of Americans are lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgendered, or one of the other twenty-two (or even more) “identities” of the LGBT alphabet soup. In reality, however, the LGBT population is around 5%, or 90% smaller than the number Hollywood wants you to think.
Why is Tinsel Town doing this? To purposely denigrate the Judeo-Christian worldview and traditional morality. “Hey! Half of America is LGBT! It is totally normal! Forget the facts!”
Or take the distortion of the traditional father or mother on television and in movies. Hollywood loves to portray the fallen all-American dad. He appears to be a great husband and father, he coaches his kid’s soccer teams, he goes to church regularly—heck, he could even be a pastor—but is actually an abusive father or a night-time serial rapist and murderer. Hollywood likewise likes to present the traditional mom as dying on the inside with her “boring” life and who would like to get away from her family so she can be a “liberated” woman. In reality, however, very few seemingly virtuous and mild-mannered men are secret criminals and very few traditional moms are actually miserable spending time with their spouses and children. As a matter of fact, polls and studies repeatedly show that working women wish they could spend more time with their families.
Why does Hollywood distort reality? To purposely attack the Judeo-Christian worldview and traditional morality, that’s why. “Hey, that man you admire so much for leading a good life, going to church, and valuing his marriage and family, is really a very bad person on the inside. All these seemingly good things just made him a secret ax-murderer. That is what you get for adhering to tradition and virtue.”
The world according to Hollywood is a place that does not resemble the actual world we live in. Hollywood loves to make the exception appear to be the rule in order to show the irrelevance of the Judeo-Christian worldview and traditional morality. If you want to understand Hollywood, read 1984 by George Orwell: “War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.”
