Virginia Democrats, fresh off Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s January 17, 2026, inauguration, are shoving House Bill 614 down parents’ throats, mandating “inclusive history” that embeds transgender and queer narratives into every corner of public school curricula from elementary to high school.
Introduced January 13, the bill forces the Virginia Board of Education to overhaul standards by March 1, 2027, weaving in “contributions, perspectives, and experiences” of LGBT individuals, alongside racial minorities, immigrants, women, and the disabled. Textbooks and materials must deliver “comprehensive, accurate, and affirming” coverage, turning classrooms into indoctrination hubs. The Department of Education must curate resources for observances like LGBT History Month, integrating them year-round—not confined to token months.
Teachers face mandatory “culturally responsive” training on these topics, with state assessments grilling kids on this agenda starting in 2028-2029. Proponents claim it “affirms such communities and promotes a holistic understanding of history,” but it’s a blatant assault on traditional values, prioritizing divisive identity politics over core academics.
The board must consult “subject matter experts” from marginalized groups, partnering with cultural outfits to amplify the propaganda. This overreach exemplifies leftist capture of education, eroding parental authority and exposing innocents to confusing ideologies prematurely.
