A woman has claimed that her husband succumbed to overwhelming grief following the brutal rape and beheading of their 12-year-old daughter by an illegal migrant in France. The mother, identified only as Christine, shared her story in a video posted to social media, recounting the events surrounding the 2023 murder of her daughter, Lola Daviet, in Paris.
The suspect, Dahbia Benkired, an Algerian national who had entered France illegally, allegedly tortured, raped, and decapitated the young girl before stuffing her body into a suitcase. Christine described how the discovery devastated her family. “My husband died of grief,” she stated. “He couldn’t bear the pain of losing our daughter in such a horrific way.” French authorities confirmed that Benkired, who was in the country despite an expulsion order, carried out the attack after the girl returned home from school.
The case sparked national outrage over immigration enforcement failures. Christine criticized politicians for exploiting the tragedy while failing to prevent similar incidents. “They come to our home, cry with us, but nothing changes,” she said. “How many more children must die?” The suspect remains in custody awaiting trial.
