Even in one of the most conservative states in the U.S., the transgender movement is influencing government, the medical field, and the daily lives of South Dakotans.

The Sanford Research Center is one of the “largest rural health system in the United States”, and on January 13th it will be holding the Third Annual Midwest Gender Identity Summit in Sioux Falls. This event is a microcosm of a larger influence this company has in pushing transgender ideology in South Dakota.

Many bills blocking the advancement of transgender ideology have been introduced in the South Dakota government. However leftist lobbying from groups such as Sanford has blocked these attempts to preserve traditional views on gender. Even Kristi Noem, the governor of South Dakota, and a self-proclaimed conservative, has been influenced by groups such as Sanford. The lives of overwhelmingly conservative South Dakotans are also greatly influenced by transgender activism. Drag shows, labeled as “kid friendly” occur on state college campuses such as SDSU. Laws allowing for prisoners to transfer to blocks with their preferred gender and paying for their transition surgeries with taxpayer money, have been implemented through the Noem administration.
