A transgender shooter left 10 dead, including themselves, and 25 wounded in a horrific attack at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in British Columbia on February 9, 2026. The small town of 2,399 residents was rocked as the perpetrator first killed two family members before storming the school, which serves fewer than 200 students in grades 7-12. The shooter, identified as Jesse Strang—a young male who identified as transgender—was described by law enforcement as a “gun person,” avoiding pronouns.
Initial reports misidentified Strang as female due to appearance: long brown hair and a dress. Locals and sources confirmed Strang’s transgender identity, with a YouTube account featuring the transgender flag and “she/her” pronouns. Strang’s uncle, Russell G. Strang, verified the details, noting the transition. Among the victims were innocent children and others at the school, underscoring the tragedy’s toll on families and communities.
This incident adds to a pattern of violence linked to gender-confused individuals, raising alarms about the dangers of unchecked transgender ideology. Activist Billboard Chris Elston condemned the event: “How many people need to be killed before we stop this trans madness?” He argued Strang was a young man needing mental health help, but affirmation of a “delusion” enabled the murders.
Elston blamed politicians for laws banning “conversion therapy,” making truth-telling illegal and fostering a cult that harms society. This tragedy is evidence of radical ideologies eroding protections for life and mental well-being.
