Life

United States of America. Ohio has introduced conscientious objection protections for religiously inspired physicians, paramedics and hospitals.

Republican Ted Cruz stands strong in the Senate defending life of the conceived and opposing the complete liberalization of abortion.

The law prohibiting abortion of children with Down syndrome goes into effect in South Dakota.

Slovenia. Prime Minister Janša Janek, now holding the six-month presidency of the European Parliament, has reiterated that imposing “imaginary European values” unrelated to human dignity on member states could lead to the collapse of the Union.

United Kingdom. Labour’s attempt to legalize abortion up to birth has failed.

Dominican Republic. The House of Representatives definitively rejected the legalization of abortion.

Italy. The number of Italian mayors who have signed the document asking parliament to institute a “Day for Newborn Life” is growing.

Family

United States of America. A new report from the Institute for Family Studies illustrates the positive influence of religion on family relationships, fertility, domestic violence and infidelity.

Romania. An opinion poll shows that 59% of Romanians plan to vote in the next elections for a party that defends marriage and the natural family.

LGBT+ and sexuality

United States of America. A new report released by Entertainment Insider investigates the rise of LGBT+ issues in television programming aimed at children.

Freedom of education

United States of America. The federal Supreme Court has agreed to consider the unconstitutionality of a Maine state law banning public funding for families who choose to enroll their children in religiously inspired schools.

Religious freedom

Canada. Calgary Baptist Church pastor Tim Stephens, who was arrested on 14 June for conducting outdoor church services, has been released.
