On December 16, 1773, the Boston Tea Party took place, a pivotal act of defiance by American colonists against British taxation without representation.
Disguised as Mohawk Indians, members of the Sons of Liberty boarded three ships in Boston Harbor and dumped 342 chests of tea overboard, protesting the Tea Act and escalating tensions that led to the American Revolution.
This event is often celebrated in conservative history for its emphasis on limited government, individual liberties, and resistance to overreaching authority.
