Most conservative associations and think tanks, family associations, and feminists (of all political colors) are at war against this law and this dangerous government.

In the case of gender-based violence, “trans women” (men who claim to be women) will have the right not to be sued for this type of assault. This is just one of the vulgar and worrying novelties of the recently passed legislation popularly known as the Trans Law (actually called Law for the Real and Effective Equality of Trans People and for the Guarantee of the Rights of LGTBI Persons), introduced by the social-communist and populist Spanish government. The passage of the trans law and its controversial gender self-determination eliminated all existing legal differences between the sexes in Spain. This is evidenced by a document that details some 500 rights that favor women and that, from now on, can also be granted to men who decide to change their sex in the Civil Registry.

On 16 February, despite the rift between the different political parties, the Trans Law was passed by the Congress of Deputies.

The trans person who wants to change sex only needs to go to the Registrar’s Office. The person concerned must fill out the form that the official will give him or her and declare his or her willingness to change sex. Next, the person chooses a new name. This adjustment cannot be made conditional on the prior submission of a medical or psychological report. The official informs the person of the legal consequences of the act and provides them with information on measures to assist them during the name rectification procedure. Within three months, the registry office will reconvene the person to ratify his or her application and ensure that the person still wishes to change their name. One month later, the official amendment will be approved. In other words, the person who wants to make the change will have to wait four months. What can we say? This is a civil disgrace, as well as a dangerous reduction of guarantees and specific regulations to favor female specificity. Not surprisingly, most conservative associations and think tanks, family associations and feminists (of all political colors) are at war against this law and this dangerous government.
