According to a damning report, children’s well-being is being put at risk by gender identity theory in schools, the Daily Mail reports.
The report says that teachers allow students to change their names or uniforms without alerting parents or professionals, and that schools are abandoning restrooms and locker rooms divided by gender.
The “self-identification” policy may result in parents not learning of their child’s transformation until they receive a letter stating the new name and pronouns, the report states.
Most of the secondary schools studied by the think-tank Policy Exchange also teach the controversial theory that people have gender identities that may differ from their biological sex.
The shocking findings will put pressure on the Ministry of Education to finally issue a guide for school officials on transgender students and to complete an inquiry ordered by the prime minister into what is being taught in sex education classes.
There has been a determined effort to dismiss these concerns by claiming that such practices occur only in few secondary schools. Policy Exchange reveals that this ideology is pervasive in secondary schools.
Citing the Freedom of Information Act, the researchers asked 304 secondary schools in England about their policies on children identifying as the opposite sex and on changes in names, pronouns, hair and uniforms.
Of the 154 schools that responded, only 39 indicated that they would inform parents as soon as a student expressed a desire to change their gender, while 87 indicated that they would not.
