On Facebook, OK for white man to identify as a woman but not as a black man

Generally speaking, the woke don't deal in reality. But regarding Facebook's stance on gamer Jerry Banfield, the woke can also operate on a plane of selective reality. Any way you cut it, the woke operate on delusion.

On Facebook, OK for white man to identify as a woman but not as a black man

Facebook live streamer and gamer, Jerry Banfield, a white man, is simply “tired of being white.” As reported by Russia Today, Banfield announced on his streaming show on February 16 that:

“[I have a] major new announcement today that I’m very excited about. Today I’m grateful I have the courage to do something I wanted to do for a very long time. For years I’ve wanted to be black, I’m tired of being white… Let’s just get to the point: I am now identifying as a black man. As an African American. I no longer wish to be identified as a white man… That’s not who I am anymore. I’ve been wanting to make that change for a long time.”

What prompted him to make this announcement, now? Banfield stated:

“For years I wanted to make this change but I thought I couldn’t because of my current skin color. Today I woke up and realized if a man or a woman can suddenly decide, regardless of their biology, DNA, and past identification, that they wish to change genders, and be fully supported in this transition, then I absolutely can make the same decision for my race.”

Indeed, if woke activists readily argue that a biological man can become a woman by “identifying” as one, why can’t a biological male become a Black man by “identifying” as one as well? Using the logic of the woke, this makes perfect sense. What you believe makes reality, irrespective of the truth.

But this was too much for woke Facebook. Despite being able to “identify” as one of over seventy genders on Facebook, a white person is forbidden to say that he identifies as a Black man. To say this is equivalent to hate speech. As Facebook Gaming (a unit of Facebook) said after it demonetized and severed ties with Banfield:

“Thank you to everyone who alerted us to a livestream this morning which ran counter to the spirit of Black History Month. We have cut ties with the creator in question, removing them from our official programs, including access to monetization features, effective today.”

Banfield responded by noting how unfair this was:

“[W]e live in a world where we are free to change genders and therefore this must apply to race as well… The simple fact is that denying anyone the ability to self identify as any race they choose and denying them to celebrate all the related holidays is discrimination.”

So there you have it. A white male can identify as one of over seventy genders on Facebook but is forbidden to identify as a Black man. That would be hate speech. So there really is a limit to the woke doctrine that your beliefs make reality: you may change your gender but not your race. Inconsistent logic has never been a problem for the woke.
