A Christian mobile carrier launched Tuesday offering the first cell phone service to block harmful content directly at the network level — making it impossible for users to disable core protections.
Radiant Mobile, which buys its bandwidth from T-Mobile, enforces hard blocks on pornography, explicit games, satanic content, violent self-harm content, and terrorism-related material. These blocks cannot be turned off by any user.
“We are going to create — and we think we have every right to do so — an environment that is Jesus-centric, that is void of pornography, void of LGBT, void of trans,” founder Paul Fisher told MIT Technology Review ahead of the launch.
An LGBT content filter is turned on by default but can be manually disabled. Additional default filters — which parents can turn off — cover general sexuality content, abortion-promoting sites, anorexia and bulimia content, piercings and tattoos, and glamour content. Optional filters that can be turned on manually include blocks for games, shopping, social forums, health and beauty, astrology, and photo and video content.
The carrier also offers original Christian content including an AI-generated saints and apostles series, children’s Bible stories, miracle testimonials, daily devotionals, and Scripture-based games.
Chief Operating Officer Chris Klimis said he joined the company specifically to address the pornography crisis, noting that children are routinely exposed to explicit content through standard cell service — sometimes accidentally.
Radiant Mobile offers individual, couples, family, and “tribe” plans. It is designed for children and teens but is available to adults seeking the same protections for themselves.
