Over the weekend, violent left-wing riots erupted in Los Angeles as radical activists torched cars, burned American flags, and wreaked havoc in protest of lawful Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. These destructive acts, echoing the chaos of the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots, threatened public safety and property. President Donald Trump, prioritizing the safety of Americans, decisively deployed the National Guard to restore order and protect citizens from the escalating violence.
By Saturday, the Los Angeles Police Department had arrested 29 individuals tied to these so-called “fiery protests,” according to a local NBC affiliate. Video evidence clearly shows left-wing agitators engaging in widespread violence, shouting vulgar anti-Trump chants, and even calling to “burn it down.” These protests are a blatant attack on law and order, with radicals undermining the rule of law while ICE agents simply enforced legal warrants targeting illegal immigrants.
Despite the undeniable destruction, Democrats like New Jersey Senator Cory Booker and California Governor Gavin Newsom shamelessly labeled the riots “peaceful.” Booker, in a Sunday interview reported by Fox News, claimed, “The reality is, we see peaceful protests launching in Los Angeles,” blaming President Trump for “sowing chaos and confusion” by arresting illegal immigrants attending immigration hearings.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass doubled down, echoing liberal talking points by blaming Trump for the city’s chaos, stating, “What we’re seeing in Los Angeles is chaos that is provoked by the administration.” This is a reckless refusal to hold rioters accountable, instead scapegoating a president working to secure borders and uphold federal law. The left’s narrative dismisses the reality of burning cars, flag desecration, and physical attacks on law enforcement vehicles.
The riots began Friday when ICE officers executed lawful search warrants, including outside a clothing warehouse where a mob tried to block agents’ black SUVs and tactical vehicles. Protesters shouted, filmed, and even physically obstructed vehicles as officers used flash bangs to disperse the crowd. President Trump called for peace and law enforcement on Truth Social: “Just one look at the pictures and videos of the Violence and Destruction tells you all you have to know. We will always do what is needed to keep our Citizens SAFE, so we can, together, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
