Advocate Health Care, an Illinois health system which operates 11 hospitals and over 200 clinics across the state—has taken the bold step of discontinuing gender medications for anyone under age 19. The decision comes in direct response to pressure from the Trump administration, which issued a strong executive order curtailing federal support for such treatments.
They’re far from alone—other prominent providers across the nation, including UI Health, University of Michigan, Yale Medicine, Kaiser Permanente, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and UChicago Medicine, have taken similar steps to comply with the new federal environment and safeguard their operations.
Experts note that the vast majority of gender-confused minors—more than 80 percent—naturally outgrow these feelings by late adolescence. Meanwhile, many who undergo irreversible treatments continue to struggle with self-harm and mental health challenges. These troubling trends, along with a growing chorus of detransitioners and revelations of profit-driven medical motives, underscore the importance of ending this transgender delusion, with a special focus on safeguarding children.
By responding decisively to uphold scientific prudence and protect vulnerable youth, Illinois’ Advocate Health Care sends a clear message: in medicine, especially regarding children, we must guard against ideological overreach. This move prioritizes sound medical judgment, parental involvement, and the long-term well-being of America’s youth.
