Finland’s leading expert on ‘pediatric gender’ medicine has exposed the push to “transition” children with gender dysphoria, a practice strongly promoted by the socialist and liberal establishment throughout the West. Proponents of administering puberty blockers and intersex hormones to children, as well as the possibility of subjecting them to genital mutilation surgeries, refer to these practices as “gender affirming cures.” But Dr. Riittakerttu Kaltiala, the professor of adolescent psychiatry at the University of Tampere in Finland, denounced these practices by calling them by their name: “social transitions” imposed on the skin of children.
Allowing children to identify with a different gender, use different pronouns, and use bathrooms and facilities that are not in line with their actual sex perpetuates children’s gender confusion and introduces strong social and psychological interference in the child’s own development. Four out of five children who deal with gender confusion at a young age will grow out of it and revert to identifying with their true gender, according to Professor Kaltiala, which means that intervening on the issue can be harmful. In addition, a Finnish study showed that the mental health of people who received hormone treatments as children worsened in adulthood. Therefore, too, Professor Kaltiala argues that gender identity-based treatments should not begin until adulthood.
In the face of these simple recent claims of expert and proven scientific evidence, what did the Finnish Socialist government decide to do? The Social Communist majority recently approved a new ‘progressive law’ on rights that makes it substantially easier for people to change their legal gender. On 1 February, Prime Minister Sanna Marin pushed through a law providing that transgender people 18 years of age or older can legally change their gender through a self-declaration process, no longer having to go through an onerous medical and psychiatric approval process. This is just a first step, and much of the coalition and pro-LGBTI lobbies were and are calling for the age for self-declaration to be lowered to 14 or 16, and some are even calling for parental consent for minors to be abolished as well. Socialists and lobbyists, after all, want to impose on us the only progress they know, the one against human nature, reality and even science.
