After the attacks on churches in Poland for “freedom of choice”, propaganda in favor of abortion lands in the European Parliament. A resolution of the Brussels Assembly, B9-0373 / 2020 / rev of 26 November 2020, condemns the ruling of the Constitutional Court of Warsaw of the previous 22 October which makes abortion illegal in cases of serious and irreversible fetal malformations since “women’s health and life at risk.”

That killing a human being in the womb is an evil act, the majority of deputies do not even want to take into consideration. This is demonstrated in a plastic way by the vote, which saw 455 in favor, 145 against and 71 abstentions .

To express their assent to the text are, almost unanimously and with insignificant exceptions, the members of the groups of the Socialists and Democrats, the extreme left GUE / NGL, the so-called “liberals” of Renew, but also the “non-members”, among which are the elected members of the 5 Star Movement in Italy and the former president of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont i Casamajó, as well as a substantial group of the European People’s Party led by the group leader Manfred Weber.

To clarify what is this alleged source of law, considered superior to the Constitutional Court of Warsaw, the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is a body composed of 23 independent experts, while the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) is a body composed of 18 independent experts. In practice, a kind of superior and supranational power, to which the right to be born and to live should be bowed.

They have established that “abortion is a human right” and that denying it is torture. But either the states comply with it or they are placed in the high-risk category of “nationalists.” This has already been seen with the stall on the approval of the Recovery Funds in the EU Council of Ministers.

The ideological threat then became a declaration of war again on November 26, when the European Parliament approved a resolution on the Situation of Fundamental Rights in the European Union – Annual Report 2018-2019 which not only condemns the “organized regression” towards gender equality and women’s rights, including sexual and reproductive health, and related rights, reaffirming the right to modern contraceptive methods and safe and legal abortion, but the need for an EU mechanism on democracy, rule of law and fundamental rights is also repeated, proposing annual country-specific recommendations that could trigger the EU value protection mechanism, infringement procedures and budgetary conditionality. In short, in Europe, to be included, through the “annual monitoring cycle of Union values”, in the black list of states in which “the rise and entrenchment of autocratic and illiberal tendencies” occur could mean not being able to access EU development funds. In practice, economic sanctions are applied to those who defend the unborn. But it is Europe that is committing suicide.
