Charlie Kirk has passed away after being shot in the neck at Utah Valley University. President Trump confirmed the tragic news, saying “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us.” Kirk is survived by his wife and two young children.
The suspect apprehended earlier today was released by Utah police, and the shooter has not yet been taken into custody. Updates on the search for the shooter will be posted.
One of the most popular and effective political activist, Kirk worked tirelessly to advance pro-life, pro-family, and pro-America causes. His organization, Turning Point, reached millions of people, especially college students. Kirk was famous for his ability to have open and honest discussions on college campuses, perhaps the places most hostile to conservative views.
This is just what Kirk was doing when he was shot. His whole project was to reach across the political divide in America and convince the youth that when discourse gives way, violence is soon to follow.
Clearly Kirk was correct. The left does not want open discourse. They want to silence political opponents at any cost, including death. Kirk was a clear target for radicalized leftists as a fearless leader in the conservative movement, not willing to be silent in the face of hate and fear-mongering.
The tragic death of Charlie Kirk serves as a reminder to all Christians and conservatives that the battle we fight is truly a battle of good verses evil, and we must all stand firm, using Kirk as an example of how we must fight: fearlessly, and with our trust in God.
I ask all readers to pray for the soul of Charlie Kirk, for his family, and for the country which Kirk fought so hard to preserve.
UPDATE: Suspect in Charlie Kirk murder is now is custody, according to FBI Director Kash Patel.
