Aaron Rodgers, quarterback for the New York Jets, recently featured on Joe Rogan’s podcast, where the pair discussed the contentious issue of promoting transgender ideology to young people. They highlighted concerns over the susceptibility of children to impulsive decision-making, and the subsequent risk of regretting gender transition procedures.
During the podcast, Rogan, a well-known podcast host, suggested that the lucrative nature of the medical industry providing transgender treatments is a factor behind what he perceives as the push of transgender ideology onto children. The pair also touched upon the issue of ‘detransitioning’, where individuals in question reverse their transgender procedures.
Using an anecdotal example, Rogan pointed out an inconsistency in people’s thinking about the capacity of children to make significant decisions. In his view, people who oppose children getting tattoos on the basis that they lack sufficient judgment are, at the same time, willing to support children changing their gender.
Rogan suggested that this type of thinking is akin to ideology seen in different groups that are deemed to be cults. He credited author and psychologist Jordan B. Peterson for having foreseen what many are now referring to as a crisis, emphasizing the broadening impact of this ‘ideologically based mentality’ amid its spread from college campuses into the wider society.
