Thumbs up–spotlight on the good things happening in the world

Argentinian pro-lifers gather to affirm the sanctity of human life from conception, a study from Brigham Young University shows boys and girls are not harmed by 'princes and princesses' theme in fairytales, and Australia's population census will not include "gender identity" but only questions dealing with biological sex.

Life

  • Argentina. Pro-lifers have mobilized en masse to affirm the sanctity of human life from conception and to promote motherhood.
  • Chile. The Parliament’s Women’s Committee has rejected by a majority vote a bill that sought to decriminalize abortion beyond 14 weeks.
  • International. Projections for the next few years on the effects of selective abortion show that 4.7 million women will be aborted worldwide in the future.
  • Nigeria. Seven years later, all of the girls kidnapped by ISIS terrorists in Chibok school have been released.
  • Russia. More women are seeking treatment to reverse the effects of RU-486 (chemical abortion) in order to ensure a viable pregnancy.

Family

  • International. In light of the US Catholics Bishops promotion of “Natural Family Planning Awareness Week” comes a report on how Na-Pro Technology renders contraception moot by “empowering women and couples with the knowledge of their fertility and their cycle.”
  • The Vatican has announced the launch of the ‘Catholic Global Compact for the Family‘; a research project which will run until June 2022 aimed towards promoting the family unit.
  • Many testimonials from successful female athletes at the recent Tokyo Olympics demonstrate the absolute compatibility of motherhood and professionalism in sport.
  • Guatemala. Despite threats from the US and multinational abortion and LGBTI corporations, the government passed new pro-life and pro-family laws which were supported by thousands of pro-life and pro-family organizations and protesters across the country.
  • United States of America. An important document released by Sen. Marco Rubio shows how benefits distributed by the Biden administration to families with children actually lead to a ‘poverty trap’.
  • The Czech Republic. The Parliament has once again refused to expand rights for LGBTI couples, such as adoption.
  • Hungary. Yet another important success for the new measures in favor of families: since last January, as many as 200,000 couples have already benefited from government support for home purchase or renovation.

LGBTI and Sexuality

  • Ireland. Former Minister Katherine Zappone, famous for promoting and supporting referendums on gay marriage and abortion, has withdrawn from the UN nomination as Special Envoy on Freedom of Opinion and Expression.
  • International. A recent study by researchers at Brigham Young University shows that the culture of ‘princes and princesses’ promoted by fairy tales does not cause any harm to the development of boys and girls, but is rather conducive to their development.
  • Australia. The country’s LGBTI lobbies have suffered another defeat, as the new state population census will not contain a question about gender but only the definition of male and female biological sex.
  • United Kingdom. A strong complaint was tabled by Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne in the House of Lords against the National Health Agency’s (NHS) discrimination against women and the favoring of transgender individuals.
  • Puerto Rico. Supported by Catholic bishops and Christian leaders, protestors were encouraged to call upon the government not to include ‘gender’ education in public schools
  • United States of America. The National Association of Pediatricians rails against the American Medical Association and defends the biological sexuality of males and females.

Freedom of Education

  • Spain. The People’s Party and Vox–both conservative and opposition parties–have taken a strong stance against the Socialist government’s proposed school curriculum, which includes experimental sex education teaching in primary classes (6-10 years of age).

Religious Freedom

  • Germany. In electoral campaigning, the leader of Germany’s Socialist Party shows his true colours by insulting the Christian Democrats’ candidate for his Catholic faith, and moral and religious beliefs.
  • Uganda. All Christian churches and Muslim organizations in the country have denounced the government for its new decisions banning religious celebrations because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Ireland. The Catholic bishops of the country have taken a new and firm stand against the discrimination of the socialist government which wants to prohibit the celebration of the sacraments in the country under the excuse of COVID-19.
  • Latin America. The episcopates of various countries of the continent have publicly denounced the policies of many governments that favor partisan interests and disregard the needs and poverty of the people.
