Democrat Representative Tulsi Gabbard recently introduced a bill called “The Protect Women’s Sports Act”, which specifies that Title IX protections, such as that from discrimination based on sex in sports programs, must apply only to a person’s biological sex as determined by doctors at birth.

Gabbard spoke on the influence and importance of this bill, saying, “Our legislation protects Title IX’s original intent which was based on the general biological distinction between men and women athletes based on sex. It is critical that the legacy of Title IX continues to ensure women and girls in sports have the opportunity to compete and excel on a level playing field.”

This bill ensures that the common distinction of sex as male and female continues to be one apparent in the daily activities of the American people. The world of sports, especially in America, is one that holds together communities, and if common knowledge such as the distinction between men and woman can be supported there, it can affect our communities for years to come.
