The complaint is motivated by statements made by the presenter in his program “Hora Veintipico” on Cadena Ser radio.
Héctor de Miguel, better known as “Quequé”, also started a campaign of harassment against the lawyers’ organization and its president, Polonia Castellanos, encouraging all his listeners to call the foundation’s telephone number to boycott its daily activities.
The foundation denounces in its complaint that “the presenter accused Christian Lawyers of violent blackmail for running a petition to collect signatures asking for the closure of the program”. And it criticizes the fact that it publicly demanded the “immediate disbanding and surrender of weapons, as well as asking for forgiveness from the victims, as if the organization of jurists were a terrorist or paramilitary band.”
It also claims to have received more than 800 calls in less than three days, something that “has affected the daily functioning of the organization.”
It further points out that De Miguel performed what he called the “Judgment of God”. “Disguised as a Catholic priest and claiming to be God, he made a mocking and offensive judgment and review of the Ten Commandments that appear in the Bible and proclaims the Christian faith.”
The president of Christian Lawyers, Polonia Castellanos, emphasizes that “if Quequé’s attacks had been against another group, the Public Prosecutor’s Office would have acted ex officio”. She criticized Cadena Ser for having endorsed the behavior of its presenter and assured that “with this attitude, the radio station has lost all its credibility.”
