According to reports, competition rules strictly require athletes to compete based on their biological sex recorded at birth, a detail organizers said they were unaware of prior to the event. In a statement posted on social media, Official Strongman officials expressed regret over the oversight, noting they launched an urgent investigation immediately after being informed of Booker’s biological status. “Had we been aware, or had this been declared at any point before or during the competition, this athlete would not have been permitted to compete in the Woman’s Open category,” the organization stated.
