Woman sues doctors for transgender treatment after removal of breasts and uterus

"I will live the rest of my life without breasts, with a deeper voice, a male-patterned bald head and without the ability to get pregnant. The removal of my perfectly healthy uterus is my biggest regret," the young woman says today.

Michelle Zacchigna, 34, is suing her former handlers over her trans affirmative treatment and the removal of her breasts and uterus.

A woman from Ontario, Canada, is suing her doctors and therapists for giving her trans affirmative treatment for her gender dysphoria and removing her breasts and uterus. The lawsuit is the first of its kind in Canada.

Michelle Zacchigna, 34, from Orillia had learned about the transgender concept from a website in 2009 after several years of depression, anxiety and suicide attempts caused by bullying in high school.

Because of the transgender ideology presented on the internet, she misinterpreted her psychological suffering as an expression of gender dysphoria:

“I later learned that what I had experienced in childhood was developmental trauma,” she wrote. “It affected the course of my life. My personality changed completely. I went from being a loud, boisterous, opinionated kid to a passive, shy teenager with low self-esteem.”

The following year, she began seeking medical help for her gender dysphoria. Medical professionals treated her trans-affirmatively, meaning they adopted Zacchigna’s false notion that her psychological suffering would resolve through a change in gender identity. With this in mind, they prescribed her testosterone as part of the hormone therapy and had her breasts and uterus removed.

It wasn’t until years later, when her eventual trans roommate abandoned his false self-identity as a woman, that Zacchigna began to realize that her relationship to her gender and her body was more diverse than transgender ideology portrays. With this knowledge she also came to “the terrible realization that everything I had done to myself over the last ten years was nothing but a delusion.”

Now the woman is suing a total of eight doctors and therapists who treated her trans-affirmatively during her mental health crisis. Instead of working through her gender confusion with differential diagnosis, her practitioners uncritically accepted her self-diagnosis and approved irreversible surgery with the removal of her uterus and breasts.

“I will live the rest of my life without breasts, with a deeper voice, a male-patterned bald head and without the ability to get pregnant. The removal of my perfectly healthy uterus is my biggest regret,” the young woman says today.
