In response to the growing trend of assisted suicide, Canada’s leading pro-life hospice, Delta Hospice Society (DHS), has created a “Do Not Euthanize Defense Kit.” The free package is designed to support vulnerable Canadians against healthcare workers advocating euthanasia, according to DHS President Angelina Ireland.

The kit includes an advance directive, legally recognized in each province, which stipulates against euthanasia. It also incorporates a national registry for people who refuse euthanasia, alongside tailored, laminated cards expressing preference for standard healthcare over Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). Finally, it features a declaration asserting MAiD as not a healthcare option.

Ireland condemns the Canadian government’s endorsement of MAiD, accusing it of encouraging a “predatory medical system.” She further chastised the Canadian Association of MAID Assessors and Providers (CAMAP) for its insistence on proposing euthanasia as a clinical care option.

The free defense kit, Ireland says, is designed to provide all Canadians with a means to navigate this healthcare system. The DHS encourages everyone to protect their right to unbiased healthcare without discrimination, especially those who are sick or vulnerable.

Despite its efforts being stifled by the medical system, Ireland stated that the DHS is committed to protecting individuals from euthanasia in order to ensure access to authentic healthcare. To this end, the society is actively recruiting healthcare system patients to act as “Guardian Angels” and is building up a “Do Not Euthanize” National Registry.
