Scores of prostitutes have descended on the Swiss ski resort of Davos this week to offer their services to the rich and powerful–some of them reportedly charging as much as $2,500 a night, according to The New Yorker reports.
Each year, the World Economic Forum hosts a five-day gathering of heads of state, CEOs, dignitaries, industry tycoons and media representatives. This year, the WEF had record-high attendance.
A prostitute who calls herself “Liana” told the BILD newspaper that she often offers her services to an American attendee in Davos who pays $750 an hour–or $2,500 for the whole night.
She added that she dressed in business attire to mingle with the crowd at the World Economic Forum.
A woman who runs an escort service in the Swiss town of Aargau, which is about 100 miles from Davos, told 20 Minutes she had received 11 bookings and 25 requests–and that was just the beginning.
A German sex worker described her experience on Twitter as she mingled with the Davos crowd and its security guards. Her comments were published by DailyMail.com.
“Dating in Switzerland during #WWF means looking into the gun muzzles of security guards in the hotel hallway at 2am–and then sharing giveaway chocolates from the restaurant with them and gossiping about the rich…. #Davos #WEF,” wrote sex worker Salome Balthus.
Balthus, who said she was staying at a hotel near Davos, refused to reveal the names of her clients.
