Chilling interrogation footage released this month shows the moment Collin Troy Bailey — now 30, who goes by Mia Bailey — calmly confessed to murdering both parents at the family home in Washington, Utah, in June 2024, saying the killing was triggered by his mother canceling his scheduled gender surgery.
“I went to my parents to do the deed. Kill them,” Bailey told investigators. “It was spur-of-the-moment. I don’t regret it. I hate them.” Bailey said his mental health had been declining for years and that surgery was the reason he needed treatment. His mother called the hospital to cancel it. “She was trying to sabotage it,” he said. “I had one thing going on, and she took that away from me.”
Bailey was convicted of killing his parents and sentenced to two life sentences in December 2025. The interrogation footage was recently obtained and published by KUTV.
Bailey is one of several transgender-identifying individuals whose family conflicts over gender ideology escalated into lethal violence in recent years — a pattern the Trump administration’s National Counterterrorism Strategy has explicitly acknowledged in designating radically pro-transgender extremism a national security threat.
