U.S. President Donald Trump delivered a resounding endorsement for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on February 5, 2026, via Truth Social, just weeks before Hungary’s crucial April 12 elections. Trump hailed Orbán as a “truly strong and powerful leader, with a proven track record of delivering phenomenal results,” praising his efforts to protect Hungary, grow the economy, and maintain law and order.

Calling Orbán a “true friend, fighter and WINNER,” Trump reiterated his full support for the prime minister’s re-election, building on his earlier backing at the 2025 Gaza Peace Summit. Orbán swiftly thanked Trump on X, emphasizing the value of alliances in a radio interview: “Our philosophy is that we must gather friends.” He credited their longstanding relationship and speculated that the Russian-Ukrainian war might have been averted under Trump’s prior leadership. Orbán warned of Europe’s drift toward conflict, vowing Hungary would stay out of the fray while focusing on domestic strength.

Amid economic challenges, Orbán outlined pro-family policies to restructure Hungary into a “family-based model” over the next four years. Measures include exempting mothers with two or three children from personal income tax, offering 3% loans for first homes, and defending the pension system—including 13th and 14th monthly payments—against Brussels’ interference.

He insisted Hungarian resources should benefit families, not foreign agendas, and pledged to maintain utility cost reductions despite U.S. and EU sanctions on Russian energy. This alliance between Trump and Orbán underscores a shared commitment to national sovereignty, secure borders, and traditional values against globalist overreach.
