In Benton, Arkansas, a 27-year-old transgender nonbinary activist has been arrested on multiple counts of child sex crimes. Regina Mai Allen, also known by the alias ‘Ringo M. Valentine’, is facing 20 felony counts related to distributing, possessing, or viewing child sex abuse content.
Allen, who has been open about transitioning and being involved in transgender activism, posted frequently about transitioning online, typically sharing images and discussions about his experience with hormonal treatment. His involvement also extends to the LGBT community and the furry subculture, known for its anthropomorphic animal role-play often seen in conventions and sexual gatherings.
These charges come amidst a broader discussion around sexual abuse and consent involving minors. The Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network (RAINN) advocates for accurate terminology, emphasizing that children cannot legally consent to sex or to have images of their abuse recorded and distributed.
In the meantime, authorities are also investigating a 40-year-old man, Eric T. Brown, in connection with the case. The details of his involvement with Allen are yet to be disclosed.
