An 18-year-old transgender student in Indiana has pleaded guilty to conspiring to carry out a mass shooting at her high school on Valentine’s Day, with authorities uncovering a disturbing “shrine” dedicated to notorious mass shooters. Trinity J. Shockley, who identifies as a transgender male and uses the names Jamie or Dex, was arrested in February 2025 after the FBI received a tip about her plans to attack Mooresville High School. According to court documents, Shockley had access to an AR-15 rifle and had purchased a bulletproof vest as part of her preparations.
The plot targeted the school’s lunch period to maximize casualties in what she described as a “target-rich environment.”On October 24, 2025, Shockley entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to commit murder, a Level 2 felony, in Morgan Superior Court. In exchange, two counts of intimidation to commit terrorism were dismissed. A sentencing hearing is set for November 24, 2025, where Shockley faces 10 to 30 years in prison. Her attorney is seeking a lighter sentence of no more than 12.5 years, plus up to five years of probation. Investigators described Shockley’s fixation on recreating the 2018 Parkland school shooting carried out by Nikolas Cruz.
A search of her home revealed a photo album and buttons featuring images of Cruz, along with Dylann Roof—the white supremacist behind the 2015 Charleston church massacre—and Ethan Crumbley, the Oxford High School shooter. Shockley’s notebooks, filled with homicidal fantasies, included entries like: “I hope whoever reads this takes acknowledgment and maybe use it for your massacre. :)” and declarations that people needed to be “killed” and “wiped away from humanity.”
Online, under the handle “Crazy Nikolaz,” Shockley posted on Discord and Snapchat about launching “Parkland part two,” writing, “I’ll be honest. I’m close to shooting mine up. I have an AR-15.” In one December 2024 journal entry, she lamented: “These thoughts never seem to stop… I am just a loser.” She later claimed the threats were “said out of rage” and that she “would never do anything like that,” though she admitted wanting to emulate Cruz.
Under the plea deal, Shockley is required to engage with mental health professionals and is barred from researching school shootings or entering county schools. The investigation was a joint effort by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, Mooresville Metropolitan Police, and FBI’s Indianapolis office, highlighting ongoing concerns about youth violence and online radicalization.
