The Spanish Foundation of Christian Lawyers has filed a complaint with the Court of Auditors against the Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta, for subsidizing with 800,000 euros a film that sought transgender children between 5 and 9 years old.

“La mitad de Ana“, the first feature film by actress Marta Nieto, has received the maximum amount of selective aid from the Institute of Cinematography.

The organization of jurists denounces that “those responsible for the film launched a casting in which they were looking for transsexual children or non-binary children between 5 and 9 years old“.

Christian Lawyers recalls that “the so-called Trans Law, approved by the Council of Ministers and currently in the legislative process in the Cortes Generales, establishes a minimum age for sex change of 12 years.”

The Lawyers’ Foundation assures that “transsexuality cannot be promoted in minors under the legally required age and, therefore, the activity may incur in a crime that, beyond the fact that it can be legally prosecuted, cannot be subsidized”.

For this reason, it has also filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office against the director of the film, Marta Nieto, as well as against those responsible for the agency in charge of casting, for disseminating content specifically intended to promote, encourage or incite self-harm by minors (art. 156 of Penal Code). They recall that this crime is punishable by imprisonment of six months to three years.

Christian Lawyers also stated that “this film has not only received the 800,000 from Iceta’s Ministry but also the rights have been acquired by TVE, so the film has been financed entirely with public money.”

The president of Christian Lawyers, Polonia Castellanos, has asked for the precautionary withdrawal of the film and the withdrawal of the subsidy. She pointed out that “while the government is asking us to tighten our belts, it is wasting our money on imposing its ideology, destroying people and going after our children.”

Castellanos underlined that “we are talking about 5-year-old children, who still do not have the use of reason, and who are asked to deny biology, deny their sex and, incidentally, to undergo hormone treatment and surgery when they have not even finished developing. At Christian Lawyers we are in favor of the person, and we are against this ideology and these experiments that try to destroy the person, more importantly, children.” She concluded: “let’s respect nature, let’s respect biology and let’s respect the innocence of children.”

The lawyers’ organization has launched a petition on its website, which already has the support of 25,000 people.
