Spanish parliamentarian Francisco José Contreras, a member of the Vox party, has been temporarily suspended on Twitter.
Contreras had commented on Twitter about an article that dealt with the testimony of a transgender man who said he had been pregnant and given birth to a daughter. In fact, the person featured in the article was born as a woman and was later artificially inseminated. The Spaniard commented on Twitter that men “don’t have a uterus or eggs” and therefore could not bear children.
Twitter then suspended Contreras’ account for 12 hours. The reason given for the suspension was that his remarks were classified as “hate speech” and violated Twitter’s guidelines. The politician had to delete his original tweet.
Contreras stated he would not back down in the face of Big Tech censorship: “We will not cave to Twitter and will continue to speak the truth about human nature. Biology must not be seen as ‘hate speech’. (…) You can see that this is fascist biology. Next time I’ll try 2+2=4.”
