The Spanish human rights association Abogados Cristianos has ruled in favor of the Spanish government and has condemned the Diputación de Valladolid, in Spain, for displaying the LGTB flag on the façade of its main building. It is an imposition on citizens that violates the right of all and clashes with the due neutrality of public institutions.
The president of the Foundation of jurists, Polonia Castellanos, is pleased with the decision for being the first to condemn a public institution on these terms, alluding to the duty of objectivity and neutrality of the administrations and the Spanish Law of Flags.
Citizens are “tired” of having ideologies imposed on them and of having legality violated by those who should ensure that it is complied with. “We are concerned that those who should be guarantors of the law are the first to violate it and use public buildings as small businesses to display the ideology that interests them,” said Polonia Castellanos, who hopes that the ruling would serve to respect all citizens and comply with the law.
