A convicted double killer with a history of sexual violence has requested hormone replacement therapy to begin gender transition while serving time in Spain.
Pedro Jiménez García, born in 1969 in Barcelona, is imprisoned for the 2004 sadistic murders of two young female police trainees. During a temporary prison leave, he broke into their Bellvitge apartment, sexually assaulted 23-year-old María Aurora Rodríguez, stabbed both her and 28-year-old Silvia Nogaledo García to death, and set the apartment on fire.
He was sentenced to 93 years and 11 months (capped at 40 years under Spanish law), plus additional time for prior rapes.
Prison sources told El Confidencial that Jiménez is now identifying as a woman and seeking to start transition procedures, which could lead to a transfer to a women’s facility in Catalonia.
This is the second such high-profile case in recent weeks, following serial killer Joan Vila Dilmé, who began hormone therapy, changed his name to “Aida,” and was moved to a women’s prison unit.
