Ron DeSantis: Leftists are “teaching kids to hate this country”

The Governor of Florida says the "stakes are high" regarding the future of America. That is why he will be introducing legislation that will empower parents to seek legal recourse if a teacher "smuggles" Marxist propaganda into the classroom.

Speaking on Mark Levin’s FOX television show Sunday night, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis shone the spotlight on Marxist educators while sending a message of empowerment to American parents fearful of the leftist threat to the American way of life.

Ron Desantis tonight says that liberal educators are “teaching kids to hate this country,” so he is pushing for a new law so parents can “inspect curriculum,” and sue schools if they catch teachers who “smuggle in” any “inappropriate content.” pic.twitter.com/PTc3EZXskv

The state of Florida’s new legislative session begins today (January 11th) and runs until March 11th. The proposed legislation DeSantis will be bringing to the table is the Stop Woke Act; Stop the Wrongs to our Kids and Employees Act.

This comes months after after Florida banned the teaching of Critical Race Theory in public schools. The proposed legislation goes even further than just targeting CRT, but applies to any “inappropriate content” brought into the classroom. Parents would be given “private right” of lawful action if they see that their children are being indoctrinated with leftist ideology. As it also applies to the workforce, DeSantis is calling it “the strongest legislation of its kind in the nation”. It will need to be passed into law before the end of March.

Recently, conservative writer, commentator, and editor Bethany Mandel brought to the fore an advertisement account banning by Facebook. The social media behemoth said publishing company “Heroes of Liberty“–which provides alternatives to the woke books being pushed on children in school–violated Facebook rules against “low quality or disruptive content.” “Heroes of Liberty”, which has since had their Facebook account restored, sells children’s books that celebrate figures like Ronald Reagan, Amy Coney Barrett and John Wayne.
