Republican Senator James Lankford has challenged President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris to support mothers and babies, as opposed to advocating for pro-abortion policies. Senator Lankford spoke out after Democrats propagated a deceptive “right to contraception” bill, arguing that it masked a push for abortion and sex changes for minors.
Lankford has previously led actions to protect Oklahoma’s health care funding from the Biden Administration’s pro-abortion agenda. Notably, he expressed concern over a rule targeting pregnancy centers’ funding. Among his many actions against abortion, Lankford introduced the Women’s Public Health and Safety Act to exclude abortion providers from acquiring Medicaid funds and the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, designed to bar federal funding for abortion perpetually.
Further, Lankford is known for his work on the Support and Value Expectant (SAVE) Moms and Babies Act. This legislation was intended to combat the FDA’s loosening of restrictions on the use of abortion-inducing drugs. Senator Lankford also played a significant role in introducing the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, intended to protect infants who survive attempted abortions.
