Report reveals Soros as financer behind leftist violence

A new report from the Capital Research Center has revealed that billionaire financier George Soros has poured more than $80 million into left-wing activist groups that have openly praised violent protests and, in some cases, even glorified terrorism. Through his Open Society Foundations, Soros has funded organizations that critics say promote lawlessness and radical ideology, undermining the very foundations of civil society. While his network of nonprofits often brands itself as advancing “justice” and “equity,” this investigation reveals a disturbing pattern of bankrolling groups that promote chaos in America’s streets.

Among the organizations highlighted in the report are groups that either participated in or encouraged the destructive riots of 2020, where entire cities were set ablaze in the name of “racial justice.” One recipient, the Center for Third World Organizing, openly bragged about “throwing down with people in the streets.” Another, the BlackOUT Collective, co-authored a pro-Hamas guide that rationalized terrorism while citing training materials promoting blockades and property destruction. Even mainstream-sounding groups like the Sunrise Movement and Movement for Black Lives have been linked to this funding stream, with millions of dollars flowing their way to advance causes that frequently involve confrontation, disorder, and contempt for the rule of law.

The sheer size of Soros’s contributions is staggering. Nearly $18 million was directed to the Movement for Black Lives, while Dream Defenders received close to $2 million. Sunrise Movement, which has been instrumental in disrupting political events and pushing radical climate policies, has also been granted millions. These sums are not the pennies of grassroots organizing but deliberate investments into a network that has repeatedly aligned itself with extremist rhetoric and actions. It is little wonder that critics now argue that Soros’s philanthropy amounts to underwriting domestic unrest.

Naturally, the Open Society Foundations denies any wrongdoing. Its spokespeople insist the grants are meant to support “peaceful and lawful” activity and that grantees are expected to uphold human rights. But this defense rings hollow when so many of the organizations backed by Soros have proudly adopted the language of confrontation and, at times, outright violence. Soros’ vast influence shields him from the scrutiny that should accompany such financing.

The revelations come at a moment of heightened political tension, following the murder of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, which authorities are investigating as a potential politically motivated crime. Former President Donald Trump has already called for racketeering charges against Soros and his son, Alex, while Republican lawmakers are demanding congressional investigations. This report confirms what has long been believed: George Soros is not merely a political donor but the chief patron of the radical Left, fueling movements that destabilize communities, glorify violence, and threaten the American way of life.
