A chilling act of violence in Dallas is the latest in a growing anti-ICE campaign targeting federal agents and facilities. Authorities say 29-year-old Joshua Jahn opened fire on an ICE facility early Tuesday morning. He struck three ICE detainees in an unmarked transport van—killing one—and then turned the weapon on himself.
Investigators uncovered compelling evidence that Jahn’s assault was ideologically motivated. Among the shell casings at the scene was one on which “ANTI-ICE” had been scrawled in ink. FBI agents describe the shooting as part of a pattern of left-wing agitators targeting immigration enforcement.
This is far from an isolated incident. In recent months, federal facilities across the country—from Portland to Illinois—have faced riots, arson, and violent protests directed at ICE. In several cases, rioters deployed fireworks, smoke grenades, and even makeshift weapons to confront law enforcement.
The growing hostility toward immigration authorities has serious consequences. These attacks undermine the rule of law, embolden radicals, and jeopardize the safety of agents charged with enforcing America’s borders. The Dallas shooting makes clear that the risk has escalated beyond protests into lethal violence.
Now more than ever, ICE needs firm federal backing and consistent enforcement. Leftist terrorism must be crushed, and law enforcement agents must be able to protect American citizens without constant fear of retaliation from the very people they are trying to protect.
