A study shows that more and more children and young people in Germany are consuming pornography. What is particularly alarming is that many of them come into contact with it as early as at elementary school age. The study was conducted by an organization that works to protect children on the internet, as reported by the organization Children at Risk.

According to the study, 17% of 12-year-old boys and 7% of 12-year-old girls have already viewed pornography on the internet. Among 14-year-old boys, the figure is already 50%. The study also shows that pornography consumption among children and adolescents can have negative effects on their psyche and social behavior.

The organization therefore calls for parents and schools to be educated more about the issue and for children to be better protected from inappropriate content on the internet. Politicians must also become active here and enforce stricter regulations.

It is to be hoped that the results of the study will lead society to re-think this issue and help to ensure that children and young people are better protected from the dangers of the internet.
