In the UK, “burlesque shows for babies” were organized by a group called CabaBabaRave, where drag queens and other performers performed for infants and their parents. Videos of the performances showed nearly nude men lolling and “twerking” in front of babies, as well as cross-dressers accepting money from the babies’ tiny hands, as LifeSiteNews reports.
A half-naked man in a sadomasochistic bondage outfit doing a gymnastic-type act in front of the babies; and men and women stripping in front of children, with one showing a dancer with breasts exposed holding up a baby. The videos have sparked international outrage, and the CabaBabaRave group has canceled its scheduled performances, suspended its website and locked its social media pages.
There is also growing conservative opposition to drag queen story hours and similar events in the United States. Tennessee recently joined states that have passed laws to protect children from “crazy gender extremism.” Drag Queen Story Hours began in San Francisco in 2015 and quickly spread across the US. However, the “burlesque shows for babies” are a British derivative of the American event.
