Nintendo game pushes non-binary, bisexual characters on kids

Nintendo’s latest release, “Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream,” rated PEGI 3 and marketed for all ages, has sparked outrage for allowing young players to create non-binary and bisexual characters. The game offers gender options including male, female, and non-binary, with dating preferences that can include one gender, more than one, or none—effectively promoting LGBT identities in a title accessible to three-year-olds.

This builds on the 2013 original, where activists demanded same-sex marriage inclusion, prompting Nintendo to initially steer clear of “social commentary” but later pledge greater “inclusivity” for future installments. This capitulation injects radical gender ideology into family-friendly entertainment, confusing vulnerable children and undermining traditional values. The Christian Institute’s Head of Communications, Angus Saul, condemned the move: “A game marketed as suitable for three-year-olds should not push ideologically-driven concepts such as being ‘non-binary’ onto children. Young children in particular may never have encountered this term before and will be understandably confused. This then puts their parents in a difficult position as they may not think their children are old enough to grapple with such topics.”

Saul added that while Nintendo has produced countless wholesome games, this one fails families by ignoring the impact of age-inappropriate content. He suggested financial motivations might backfire, as parents wary of LGBT indoctrination will steer clear. The controversy echoes a BBC scandal involving children’s TV presenter Dr Ronx Ikharia, who promoted “Safe With Me” badges for trans allies—encouraging kids to support adults entering single-sex toilets.

Sex Matters’ Helen Joyce blasted it: “Asking children to approach adult strangers and take responsibility for their safety in toilet facilities puts children at obvious and serious risk. As for adults wearing ‘safe with me’ badges that children are supposed to believe, it’s hard to think of a more irresponsible idea.” This Nintendo fiasco exemplifies the radical left’s infiltration of youth culture, prioritizing confusion over clarity and ideology over innocence. Parents must remain vigilant to shield kids from such moral erosion.
