In a recent development, the office of the New York state Attorney General has expressed an intent to sue several pro-life pregnancy aid centers over alleged “misleading statements” regarding the controversial “abortion pill reversal” protocol. The pregnancy centers were given a five-business-day notice to respond.

In the past, the Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) protocol, which counters the effects of mifepristone – the first drug in the abortion pill regimen – by supplying the pregnant woman with the hormone progesterone, has been condemned as unproven and largely experimental by critics.

The move by the New York state Attorney General follows a similar lawsuit previously filed by California Attorney General Rob Bonta against pro-life organizations. CompassCare CEO, Jim Harden, accuses New York Attorney General Letitia James of violating the pregnancy center’s first amendment rights and alleges a pattern of attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers.

Harden emphasizes that, despite the legal threats, “We will not stop serving women facing an unplanned pregnancy.”
