New York abortionist Margaret Carpenter — subject to an active Louisiana arrest warrant for illegally mailing abortion pills across state lines — has reportedly registered with the Irish Medical Council and is now living in South Dublin, according to Irish outlet GRIPT Media.

Louisiana District Attorney Tony Clayton alleges Carpenter mailed abortion-inducing medication to a pregnant minor’s mother in Louisiana, where abortion is illegal. The prescription included with the shipment carried Carpenter’s name. Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry wrote that the minor was excited about her pregnancy and was planning a gender reveal party before her mother, conspiring with Carpenter, coerced her to take the pill. The girl was hospitalized.

Carpenter faces a second indictment after allegedly mailing abortion pills to a woman in Shreveport who was approximately 20 weeks pregnant — 10 weeks beyond the FDA’s authorized gestational limit. That woman reportedly went into labor after consuming the drugs.

New York’s shield law prevented Carpenter’s prosecution at home. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton separately sued Carpenter and imposed a fine of more than $100,000 after she mailed abortion drugs into Texas in defiance of state law.

The Irish Medical Council has declined to clarify Carpenter’s professional status. It remains unknown whether she is dispensing or mailing abortion drugs from Ireland. Pro-life advocates have raised concern that Ireland may be serving as a haven for American abortion providers seeking to evade U.S. law.
