Social media giant Meta recently pulled an advertisement for a talk highlighting the dangers of transgenderism, claiming the post breached “local law.” Feminist speaker Megan Murphy shared on June 6 that Meta, the owner of Instagram and Facebook, had removed an Instagram post advertising the event meant to discuss the adverse effects of transgenderism on Canadian society.
Meta justified the post’s removal by stating it garnered a complaint concerning the event advertisement. It mentioned that if governments perceive any content on Instagram or Facebook as contradictory to local laws, they might request the company to restrict the content.
The event, held on June 8 at the Cowichan Community Centre in British Columbia, was entitled “Pushing Pride: When activism conflicts with women’s rights, gay rights [sic], and the safeguarding of kids.” The event description underscored the potential harm for women and children resulting from transgenderism.
In the wake of Meta’s act of censorship, Murphy announced that all her Instagram accounts had been subsequently suspended. She believes this suspension links back to her critical stance on transgenderism.
