Maryland Governor Wes Moore, a top contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, said in a podcast interview this week that he would support his teenage son transitioning genders — and declined to advise him to wait until adulthood.
When podcast host Patrick Bet-David asked Moore directly, “Would you advise him to wait until he’s 18?” Moore answered: “If this is how he is feeling and I feel like I am closely tied to him, I’m not going to advise him on something that he feels is right.” A visibly stunned Bet-David followed up: “At 14 years old, Wes?”
The response drew swift condemnation. Radio host Clay Travis said there was “a 0% chance he believes this,” adding: “But this is how insane the Democrat Party is.”
Ryan Bomberger, president of the faith-based Radiance Foundation, called it Moore’s “epic fatherhood fail.” He stated: “The Democratic Party has no moral compass. The thought that any child’s emotion must be validated is insane. Children’s feelings are often contrary to reality. That’s WHY they have parents to help guide them, not genitally mutilate them.”
Republican Maryland gubernatorial candidate Dan Cox paraphrased Moore’s position bluntly, writing that the governor was effectively saying he would “partner” with his minor son through castration. “INSANELY EVIL TO DO THIS TO ANY MINOR CHILD,” Cox declared.
