Kermit Gosnell, the notorious Philadelphia abortionist convicted of murdering multiple babies born alive and operating a filthy “house of horrors” clinic, has died at age 85. Gosnell passed away on March 10, 2026, while serving a life sentence without parole in a Pennsylvania prison.
Gosnell was found guilty in 2013 of three counts of first-degree murder for deliberately snipping the spinal cords of viable infants who survived his late-term abortions. He was also convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the drug-overdose death of 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar, along with hundreds of other charges including illegal late-term abortions and operating a medically unsanitary facility.
Pro-life leaders described Gosnell’s clinic as a symbol of the abortion industry’s disregard for human life. Witnesses testified that he routinely killed babies who were born breathing and moving, sometimes storing their remains in freezers or jars throughout the building.
Despite the overwhelming evidence of his crimes, Gosnell became a rallying point for abortion advocates who claimed his conviction was an attack on “reproductive rights.” In reality, his atrocities revealed the moral rot at the heart of the abortion industry, where the weak and defenseless are treated as disposable. Gosnell’s death closes one of the darkest chapters in America’s abortion history, but the fight to protect the unborn continues.
