In a chilling jailhouse interview with ABC13, Karon Fisher, a 20-year-old transgender man who identifies as a woman, accused of the brutal daylight murder of a Houston man, expressed no regret for the crime. The shocking incident, recorded on video, has been described as one of Houston’s worst cases of a murder caught on tape. The footage showed Fisher running over the victim twice, then alighting from his vehicle, kissing the man before stabbing him repeatedly.
The victim was identified as 65-year-old Steven Anderson, a retired worker of MD Anderson with a 20-year tenure. Fisher admitted to ABC13’s reporter, Brooke Taylor, that the violent act was random and could have been committed on anyone. He vividly recalls standing atop the victim’s body, feeling a false sense of familiarity, despite not having interacted with the deceased before.
Throughout the interview, Fisher reiterated, “God saved me that day.” He also acknowledged his history of mental health issues, recalling he struggles as a 16-year-old transgender resorting to prostitution. Anderson’s family, in their quest for justice for their loved one, wants Fisher to be permanently incarcerated. They remember Anderson as a thoughtful and generous man, who leaves behind a daughter and three grandchildren.
