Vanessa Sivadge, a former nurse at Texas Children’s Hospital, claims she was fired after disclosing the hospital’s use of Texas Medicaid to fund sex change attempts for minors. The hospital denies these allegations and did not provide immediate commentary regarding Sivadge’s termination.
Sivadge had asked for a transfer from her position in the endocrinology clinic due to religious concerns, which she officially submitted to her supervisor at the hospital on May 31. This request was ignored. After journalist Chris Rufo published her claims about the hospital’s practices, she was reportedly placed on suspension and then later terminated. Sivadge says that this is retaliation for her allegations.
Despite the unfolding events, Sivadge stands firm in defending the youth from dangerous gender surgeries, and has appealed to the public to support her mounting legal costs. In the meantime, Texas Children’s Hospital has been attracting more scrutiny as the Justice Department targets another whistleblower, Eithan Haim. He exposed the hospital’s secret conduct of gender-transition procedures on minors, despite the hospital’s declaration that it had ceased such practices in March 2022. Haim now faces an indictment for obtaining protected health information unlawfully. He asserts that his exposure of the hospital’s behavior has made him a political target.
