Every June during Pride Month, we are surrounded 24-7 by messages celebrating homosexuality, transgenderism, and the other letters in the LGBT alphabet soup. Woke big companies try to outdo one another in showing which is more supportive of the LGBT agenda; indeed, walk into any big box store in June and you will see Pride rainbows everywhere and brightly colored displays highlighting the LGBT-themed products being sold, from toddler clothing with messages such as “love is love” on it to dog bandanas decked out in rainbow flags. During Pride Month woke people and companies on Linked-in, Facebook, and Twitter will paint their icons in rainbow colors; libraries and community centers will host special LGBT-themed events and gay bars will sponsor “family-friendly” drag queen shows. Sports teams will tout the LGBT patches on their players’ uniforms and screens around stadiums will saturate fans with LGBT images. And the message all month is the same: if you do not fully embrace the LGBT agenda, you are a bigot who needs to be cancelled.
However, what seems to be ignored in this celebration of homosexuality and transgenderism is that it is a direct attack, indeed outright bigotry, against the overwhelming majority of religious believers in America and the world. For example, the Catholic Church, evangelical Protestants, Orthodox Christians, Orthodox Jews, and Muslims all teach that there are just two sexes/genders and that homosexuality is disordered conduct.
For example, the holy books of the three major religions all agree that there are only two sexes/genders. The Old Testament book of Genesis says: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (1:27) Likewise, the Quran states: “That He did create in pairs—male and female” (53:45) and “From the human being, He made of him a pair, male and female.” (75:39). So God created only two sexes/genders, not over 70 as Facebook claims.
In regard to homosexuality, the holy books of all three major religions agree on its immorality. The Old Testament book of Leviticus says: “You [man] shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination” (18:22) and “If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination.” (20:13). Likewise, in the New Testament, St. Paul writes in the Letter to the Romans:
“For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.” (1:26-27).
Again, in the First Letter to the Corinthians, St. Paul writes:
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.” (6:9-10)
In regard to homosexuality, the Quran states:
“And remember when Lot scolded the men of his people, saying, ‘Do you commit a shameful deed that no man has ever done before? You [men] lust after men instead of women! You are certainly transgressors…Why do you men lust after fellow men, leaving the wives that your Lord has created for you? In fact, you are a transgressing people.” (7:80-81; 26: 165-166)
People, especially non-believers, are free to disagree with these passages from the Bible and the Quran. However, what people are not allowed to do is say that by supporting the LGBT agenda and Pride month they are not attacking the beliefs of the Catholic Church, Evangelicals, Orthodox Christians, Orthodox Jews, and Muslims.
Thus, every time a company or person shows support for the LGBT agenda and Pride Month, know that they are outright denigrating the beliefs of faithful Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Significantly these bigoted actions go against the core belief of the left: tolerance. So the next time you see someone supporting Pride Month, ask him why he is being intolerant of Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Just wait for the stammering to begin. It is the duty of every faithful religious believer to point out people’s religious bigotry. Perhaps if they are made aware of it, they will change their actions; if not, we should find new friends or shop in different places.
