Several medical professional organizations in the United States, including The American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds), the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine (AHM), and the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), have come together to voice their objections against “genital mutilation surgeries” for minors. The groups, operating under the umbrella of Doctors Protecting Children (DPC), have signed a declaration demanding an end to the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries for children and adolescents experiencing distress over their biological sex.
The recorded statement from DPC contends that the treatments are not only unhelpful but harmful. This report comes at a critical time, with recent surveys indicating that a majority of Americans oppose the medical industry’s attempts to reject biology and encourage children to undergo such procedures.
Dr. Erica LeBaron, family medicine physician and president-elect of AAPS, stressed the importance of medical care for children being rooted both in scientific facts and fundamental medical ethics. She reinforced the necessity for medical professionalism to stop harm being done and prioritize patients over political ideology.
This unified stance against the predominant gender ideology underlines the increasing concerns over pro-transgender narratives, particularly those targeting children. Despite a rising cultural movement that supports the transgender agenda, there’s a significant opposition advocating for a more considerate approach, one that respects the dignity of the person and the biological reality.
